Karen Neander
Karen Neander (1954 – May 6, 2020) was a philosopher and professor at Duke University. She was known for her work in philosophy of mind, philosophy of biology, philosophy of neuroscience, and cognitive science.[1]

Biography
Karen Neander obtained her PhD at La Trobe University in 1984 with a dissertation on the concept of mental illness.[2] During her career, she worked at the University of Sydney, the University of Adelaide, the Australian National University (1988–1995), and Johns Hopkins University (1996–2006).[3] In 2006, she joined the department of philosophy at Duke University, where she remained until her death, from cancer in 2020.[4]
