Kanawat Chantaralawan

Kanawat Chantaralawan (Thai: คณวัฒน์ จันทรลาวัณย์; nickname: Egg; born: June 5, 1989 in Bangkok), popularly known as Dr. Egg (หมอเอ้ก), is a Thai politician, former actor, and ophthalmologist. He is of Thai-Chinese and Malaysian descent.[1]

He graduated from the 63th class of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University and has worked as a physician at Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital, Si Racha, Chonburi for a period of time. Then studied in ophthalmology at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital under Thai Red Cross Society, length of time he worked as a doctor for a total of six years.[2]

While he was studying medicine at the first year level, he entered the showbiz by being a model, performing in music videos[3] with some films including Friendship (2008) and With Love (2010).[4]

In the year 2018, he was assigned by Democrat Party to be a candidate for the House of Representatives Bangkok's 7nd constituency, consisting of Bang Sue and Dusit (only Thanon Nakhon Chai Si) in the general election on March 24, 2019, although he had no previous political experience. However he is considered one of the new generation members of the Democrat Party called "New Dem".[2][5]
