Kadhi chawal

Kadhi chawal ("curd curry with rice") is a popular, rice based dish from India. There are several variations of this food that can be found in states such as Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The meal consists of besan (gram flour), dahi and spices.[1][2]

Kadhi is very popular staple especially in the western & northern states. It usually has a thick consistency using chickpea flour & Curd (dahi) and fritters (Pakora)[3]. Kadhi in Gujarat & Maharashtra is savoury & sometimes do not have any fritters. Fritters for Kadhi also have several varieties, they are prepared with onions, potato, spinach etc.
