Juan de Dios Rawson
Juan de Dios Rawson (1833–1902) was an Argentine military man, who took part in the Argentine Civil War, War of the Triple Alliance against Paraguay,[1] and the Conquest of the Desert against the Aboriginal Tribes.[2]

He was born in San Juan, the son of Amán Rawson, born in Massachusetts, and Mercedes Martínez, belonging to a Creole family of the city.[3] He was married to Elizarda Guiñazú Encinas, daughter of Juan Antonio Guiñazú and Trinidad Encinas.[4]
Juan de Dios Rawson was half brother of Guillermo Rawson, Minister of the Interior during the presidency of Bartolomé Mitre, and the grandfather of Arturo Rawson, interim president of Argentina in 1943.[5]
