Josh Hannah

Josh Hannah is a venture capitalist and entrepreneur. He is a general partner with Matrix Partners in Palo Alto, California.[1]

Education and early life

Hannah received degrees from University of California at Berkeley and Stanford.[2]

Career

Hannah was CEO and co-founder of Flutter.com which merged with Betfair in 2002.[3] Betfair now does over $50 billion in annual transactions.[4] Hannah continues to serve as non-executive director at Betfair.

In 2004, Hannah and Jack Herrick bought eHow out of financial distress. After turning the company around, Herrick and Hannah sold eHow to Demand Media in 2006. During the sale of eHow, Hannah and Herrick spun wikiHow out of eHow and personally financed it so it could remain an independent organization.[5]

Hannah joined Matrix Partners in 2009. Through Matrix and as an angel investor Hannah has invested in dozens of Silicon Valley companies. A few of his investments include: Quora, AngelList, LikeALittle, Covestor, Huddle, Ning, Aardvark, Inflection, wikiHow, Minted, Huddler, Taulia, Jirafe, Dealbase, Canva, Phonezoo, Wetpaint, DesignerApparel, Bonanzle, Bacon Salt, Blingo, NetProspex, Nirvaha, and Kinnek.[6]
