Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School
Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School was a high school in Tremé, New Orleans, Louisiana.[1] It opened in 2016 as a charter school operated by Firstline Schools.[2] The school closed after the 2018–2019 school year.[3]
Joseph S. Clark Senior High School
The school was formerly known as Joseph S. Clark Senior High School from 1947 until 2016.[4] Clark Senior High School was the first high school below Canal Street to educate colored children in New Orleans.[5] It was named after Joseph S. Clark, the first president of the Southern University at Baton Rouge.[6] The Rebirth Brass Band was formed at the high school in 1983.[1]
