Career

Jon Acuff is the New York Times Bestselling author of six books including his most recent Wall Street Journal #1 Bestseller, “Finish: Give yourself the gift of done.”

In the last 6 years, he's written at a consistent pace, selling hundreds of thousands of books across multiple genres ranging from humor to finance to business. Published in more than a dozen languages, his work is both critically acclaimed and adored by readers. After reading “Do Over,” Seth Godin remarked, “This is the best career book ever written. I’m not even sure what book comes in second.” The NFL Player's Association agreed, deciding to teach the book to players in the league. After the release of “Finish,” more than 2,000 people reviewed the award-winning audiobook giving it a 4.8 out of 5. Not only are they reviewing it, they're putting the principles into practice. Dozens and dozens of people have sent Acuff the book they themselves finally finished writing after reading, “Finish.” The proof is in the pudding, but in this case, the proof is on the bookshelves and the scales and the diplomas and all the other arenas “Finish” has impacted.

When he's not writing, Acuff can be found on a stage, as one of INC's Top 100 Leadership Speakers. He's spoken to hundreds of thousands of people at conferences, colleges and companies including Nissan, Nokia, Comedy Central, Lockheed Martin, FedEx, the YMCA and many more. The international success of his books has opened the world to his ideas with events ranging from Lisbon, Portugal to Athens, Greece. Known for his insights wrapped in humor, in 2018 Acuff decided to try his hand at comedy. His two night, 60-minute set at Zanies, the largest comedy club in Nashville, sold out in 72 hours.

For over 20 years he's also helped some of the biggest brands tell their story, including The Home Depot, Bose, Staples, and the Dave Ramsey Team. His fresh perspective on life has given him the opportunity to write for Reader's Digest, Fast Company, The Harvard Business Review and Time Magazine. When he's not writing for major media companies, he's appearing on them, with spots on CNN, Fox News, Good Day LA and several other key outlets. The range of his writing also offers the opportunity to be a guest on hundreds of different podcasts from Brian Koppelman's (Co-Creator of Showtime's “Billions”) “The Moment” to Jen Hatmaker's “For the Love.”

In addition, Jon is also a big proponent of social media with blogs that have been read by 4 million people. His all verified accounts include: 295,000 Twitter followers, 160,000 fans on Facebook and nearly 100,000 Instagram followers. He is known for his humorous and joyful content on his social media accounts. In addition, he's got a well-maintained email list with nearly 90,000 subscribers. All this time on stage and online has resulted in book tours attended by thousands of people every time he launches one.

In 2010, he used his influence with his tribe to build two kindergartens in Vietnam. Jon lives with his wife Jenny, two daughters, and bird Buddy in Franklin, TN. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family, running half marathons, petting dogs, eating queso, and hustling. His daughters, LE and McRae, love Jon's job, because he works from home so they see him often, when he's not sharing his ideas around the world.
