Bride of the Week, Radio City and Local Radio

Kennedy started a new show on 194 Radio City in the 1980s. It was then Johnny had the idea for a new show format. Bride of the Week, was the title of the new show. The shows concept was Kennedy would be contacted by a family with a bride who was to have a wedding soon. They would give him the details of the bride in question and then Kennedy would think of a story to tell the bride and convince her that her wedding day was ruined. Kennedy would call up the unsuspecting brides on live radio and play the part of a character who was to tell her something had gone wrong with her wedding. For example, her soon to be husband had had all of his hair cut off in a pub. At the end just before the bride put the phone down, Johnny would tell her she was that weeks Bride of the Week.

Kennedy then went on to present on City Gold and then Magic 1548. He also has presented shows on Wirral Radio and also hosted shows on Sandgrounder Radio, Dune FM and 7 Waves 92.1.[4]
