John Jackson (law professor)

John Howard Jackson (April 6, 1932 - November 7, 2015) was a professor at the University of California at Berkeley Law School, the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA.[1][2][3] He organized the International Economic Law Group of the American Society of International Law, and was regarded as one of the chief architects of the World Trade Organization.[4]

Jackson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1954, he graduated with an A.B. from Princeton University, and earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1959.[5]

He was the director of the Institute of International Economic Law, Georgetown University Law Center and editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Economic Law.[6]
