Jimmy Utterson
James Utterson (26 November 1914–1949) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Wolverhampton Wanderers.[1][2] Utterson died in 1935 after suffering a head injury in a match against Middlesbrough on 18 September. His death and that of John Thomson and Jimmy Thorpe also goalkeepers from the same period caused the FA to change the rules in order to give them more protection from forwards.[3]
