Jimmi Harkishin

James "Jimmi" Harkishin (born Rajan Harkinshindas; 19 March 1965) is a British actor best known for his role as shopkeeper Dev Alahan in Coronation Street, which he has played continuously since 10 November 1999. He also had a small role in the film East is East as well as Bhaji on the Beach. Harkishin played Gary Lobo in the Jonathan Creek episode "Danse Macabre"[1].

Harkishin was born in Paris, France, to an Indian father, Deepak, and an Italian mother, Soni.[2]

He began acting in 1987 under the stage name James Harkishin, and played the regular character of Jose Cuervo for 18 episodes between 1990–1993 in the children's TV series Uncle Jack.
