Biography

Jesper Søndergaard Thybo repeatedly represented Denmark at the European Youth Chess Championships and World Youth Chess Championships in different age groups, where he won gold medal in 2017, at the European Youth Chess Championship in the U18 age group.[1] In 2016, he won the Nordic Youth Chess Championship.[2] In 2017, in Jūrmala Jesper Søndergaard Thybo won a tournament with International Master norm.[3][4] In 2017 he won third place in the Danish Chess Championship.[5] He two times played for Denmark in World Youth U16 Chess Olympiads (2012, 2014).[6]

Jesper Søndergaard Thybo played for Denmark in the European Team Chess Championship:[7]

  • In 2017, at second board in the 21st European Team Chess Championship in Crete (+1, =6, -1).

In 2017, Jesper Søndergaard Thybo was awarded the FIDE International Master (IM) title.[8]

Jesper is ranked 2nd best chess player in Denmark.
