Jeevana Ganga

Jeevana Ganga is a 1988 Telugu drama film, produced by Navakanth under the Kalanikethan International banner[2] and directed by Mouli.[3] It stars Rajendra Prasad, Rajani, Nandamuri Kalyan Chakravarthy in the lead roles and music composed by Chakravarthy.[4] The film was recorded as a flop at the box office.[5]

Plot

The film begins on Ganga (Rajini) an orphan landing at the city to work as a dance teacher. Just after, she is attacked by some beasts when Prabhu (Kalyan Chakravarthy) a local goon, protects and gives her shelter in their colony. After some time, an affinity develops between them. Prabhu starts loving Ganga but she considers him as her brother. Parallelly, Raja (Rajendra Prasad) the son of a millionaire Rayudu (Jaggayya) who habituates his son with all sorts of vices. Ganga is appointed as a dance teacher to Raja's sister Manju (Baby Seeta). After seeing Ganga, Raja falls for her and reforms himself when Ganga too accepts him. Being cognizant of it, Prabhu sacrifices his love and makes marriage arrangements of Raja & Ganga. Thereafter, Raja leaves abroad when Prabhu met with an accident and requires huge money for his survival. During that plight, a person Babai (Suthi Velu) insists Ganga come in for prostitution. As it is constrained she accepts his proposal. Here, Ganga gets flabbergasted to witness Rayudu therein, when she learns it as a trap because he doesn't want to make a poor girl as his daughter-in-law. But unfortunately, hereabouts, Rayudu dies in a suspicious situation, Ganga escapes with the money and saves Prabhu. After some time, Raja returns and a police investigation is held by Inspector Kaali Charan (Charan Raj). Gradually, it becomes stronger when Raja suspects Ganga for which she has to leave the house. Thereupon, Prabhu shows Rayudu's devilish face to Raja. At last, it is revealed that Raja's mother (Manjula), only killed her husband by poisoning, in order to save Ganga from him. Finally, she gets arrested, Raja moves in search of Ganga, but heartbroken, Ganga refuses to accompany and Raja keeps on waiting for her acceptance.
