Jean La Rose

Jean La Rose is an indigenous Arawak from Georgetown, Guyana. She was awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2002 for her struggles to halt mining in their territories, to secure inhabitants full rights to traditional lands, and to save Guyana's forests.[1]
