Jazmin Pinedo

Jazmín Tatiana Pinedo Chau ( Junín, Peru, 19 August 1990) is a television presenter , model and Peruvian actress. She is best known for having been one of the participants of the This is war program of América Televisión and for being the host of various Latina Televisión programs.

Biography

In 2008, Pinedo was crowned Miss Teen Peru Universe[1][2] and represented Peru in the Miss Teen international held in Costa Rica.[3] Previously, she had studied advertising at the Peruvian Institute of Advertising.[4] In 2011, Pinedo made her debut in Peruvian cinema, playing a role in the film El buen Pedro, directed by Sandro Ventura.[5] In the same year, she modeled for Very Verano of América Televisión.[6] In 2012, she collaborated with the model Tilsa Lozano in major lingerie shows.[7] Later, she entered the youth program Esto es guerra.[8]

In 2015, she debuted as an animator in the contest program Combate, with the television animator Gian Piero Díaz on ATV.[9]

The next year she moved to Latina Televisión to the host the program Espectáculos.[10][11] She also played the lead role in Los reyes del playback with Jesús Alzamora and Cristian Rivero.[12] She was a presenter of the talent show Yo Soy.[13] On 5 October 2017 the movie Somos Néctar premiered, in which she gave life to Korina, a mean and interested young woman. In 2018, she joined the novel Torbellino, 20 años después assuming an antagonistic role as Miriam Saavedra.[14] In 2018, after closing the cycle of shows, Jazmin Pinedo returned to hosting with a new format in El último hincha peruano, before traveling as a reporter to the FIFA World Cup 2018.[15][16]

Personal life

In 2012, Pinedo had a relationship with actor Jesús Neyra.[17] In 2013, she started a relationship with model Gino Assereto, from whom she had her first daughter, Khalessi Assereto Pinedo, in 2015.

In 2017, in an interview for the newspaper La República, she considered herself "hermetic" in her social relationships.[18] In 2018, after coming back from covering the 2018 FIFA World Cup notes, Pinedo decided to take a work break to undergo surgical treatment and recover herself.[19]

Artistic career

Cinema

In 2011, Pinedo made her debut in the movies performing a role in the national movie El buen Pedro, from director Sandro Ventura.[20] On 5 October 2017, the movie Somos Néctar premiered, where she played Korina, a mean and interested young woman.

Modeling

After being crowned Miss Teen Perú 2008, she entered as a model for the Very Verano of América Televisión contest program.[21] In 2012, she collaborated with model Tilsa Lozano to make presentations.[22] In 2018, she traveled to Italy to participate for the well-known Bata shoe brand.

Reality show

In 2013, she entered the program of juvenile reality television Esto es guerra, where she stayed until 2015. She retired because of the fact that she was pregnant with her first-born.[8]

In 2013, she entered the reality show Esto es guerra, retiring in 2015 due to her pregnancy. That same year, she made her debut as a host in the contest show Combate with actors Renzo Schuller and Gian Piero Díaz in ATV. In 2016, Pinedo joined Latina Televisión joining the Espectáculos show, succeeding Karen Schwarz. Shortly after, she was at the same time under the leadership of Los reyes del playback with Jesús Alzamora and Cristian Rivero. Likewise, she performed as the host of the talent show Yo soy.

In 2018, she joined the cast of the telenovela Torbellino, 20 years later, playing Miriam Saavedra. She hosted El último hincha peruano and was a reporter in the FIFA World Cup. Currently, she is the host of the show Tengo algo que decirte, replacing Lady Guillén, whom was given a break due to her pregnancy, besides hosting the dancing show Los cuatro finalistas: baile.

Musical career

In 2018, Pinedo ventured in the music industry by launching a cumbia version of the Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato single Échame la Culpa, with singer Deyvis Orosco.[23][24]

Controversies

In 2018, the manager of Latina Televisión gave the news that Pinedo would travel to the World Cup to cover the event, this generated a lot of criticism due to her journalistic and sporting inexperience.[25] Pinedo made it clear that she would not go to the World Cup to perform notes about soccer, but to cover some incidences about the World Cup and the Perú national soccer team.[26]
