Jay Chaudhry

Jay Chaudhry (born 1958/1959) is an Indian-American billionaire businessman and the CEO and founder of Zscaler, a cybersecurity company. Prior to this, he founded AirDefense (acquired by Motorola), CipherTrust (acquired by Secure Computing), CoreHarbor (acquired by AT&T) and Secure IT (acquired by Verisign).[2]

Early life

Chaudhry grew up in a Himalayan village without running water.[3] He earned a bachelor's degree from Banaras Hindu University, and a master's and MBA from the University of Cincinnati.[4]

Career

In 1997, Chaudhry founded Secureit and CipherTrust.[4] He is also a board member of Air2Web.[4] After Zscaler's March 2019 IPO, Chaudhry was reckoned to be a billionaire.[3] In 2018, Chaudhry was selected as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award program in Northern California.[5]

Personal life

He is married to Jyoti, they have three children, and live in Saratoga, California.[1]
