A former television producer, her most famous work is on the popular series Teachers, 20 Things To Do Before You're 30, EastEnders and This Life. In 2011, Foursome was nominated for the Melissa Nathan Award for Romantic Comedy Fiction. In 2018, Faking Friends was nominated in the popular fiction category of the National Book Awards and in 2019 it was long listed for the Comedy Women In Print prize.

Early life

Fallon's parents had a newsagent's shop. She grew up in a house above her parents' shop.[1] She was educated at St Bernard's Convent School in Slough, Berkshire and University College London where she studied history.[2]

Personal life

She has been in a relationship with comedian Ricky Gervais since 1982; they met while both were studying at University College London. The couple have lived together since 1984 and are based in Hampstead.[3] They had a cat called Ollie,[4] who died on 10 March 2020.[5] Ollie was a gift to them by Jonathan Ross on his Friday night show.[6][7] Fallon's niece, Elsie Fallon, is an actress.[8]
