Józef Razowski

Józef Razowski, (born 4 April 1932)[1] is a Polish entomologist and lepidopterist specializing in Tortricidae. Between 1953 and 2006, he described 1744 Lepidopteran taxa.[2]

Obtained both master of science and PhD from the Jagiellonian University in 1958 and 1961 respectively.[3]

Razowski was director of the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences from 1988 to 1997. He retired in 2003.[3]

He is the recipient of various prizes and awards, including the Polish State Award and the Ignaz Schiffermüller medal.[3]
