Iyara

Iyara is the headquarters of Ijumu local government area in Kogi state, Nigeria.[1] The zip code for Iyara is 261103.[2] The Iyara people are part of the Okun, which is a Yoruba sub group.

  • Smart Adeyemi, a Former senator and a past National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists from 1999 to 2006.
  • Rt. Rev'd E.F Ikupolati, born and raised in Iyara, is the former and the pioneer bishop of the Diocese of Ijumu under the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. He retired in June 2018.
