Itaewon Global Village Festival

Itaewon Global Village Festival held in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, is cultural festival held in Itaewon, Korea. It is hosted by the Itaewon Tourism Zone Association, and sponsored by the Seoul-si and Yongsan-gu.[1]

Itaewon Global Village Festival was firstly held in 2008 to combine the Korean traditional culture and foreign culture in Itaewon, activate the Itaewon area and attract foreign tourists. It has been positioned as a major festival in Seoul to be held in fall with many attractions, and it brings joy to the tourists with various culture exchange events such as charming sights with food exhibition from all around the world, parades with more than 800 participants, concerts of K-pop artists that make up the center of the Korean Wave, World Culture Zone etc.[2]

Name and dates

The name of the festival in English is 'Itaewon Global Village Festival' and '이태원 지구촌 축제' in Korean, held every October.

  • Global Village parade
Before opening ceremony, 300 flag bearers and street marchers participates in Global Village parade informing festival's start.
  • Global traditional outfit fashion show
You can have a broad variety of experience to see Korea's traditional outfit and 20 nations's traditional outfit.
  • Global food exhibition and the institutions and customs show
You can taste global various food and buy each nation's the institutions and customs not only see global culture.
  • C&M kind concert
C&M kind concert is opening and closing ceremony's special concert. Korean singer Dalshabat, Hyobum Sin and romantic punch performed in 2014 C&M kind concert.
  • Global Village DJ party
You can enjoy club party with best DJ's djing in exclusive and strong Itaewon club culture.
  • Global Village culture performance
Also you can see public performance that world music, art, dance, performance and etc interact with you.[5]
