Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein (English: Through Gestures) is an Indian television series that premiered on 15 July 2019 on Sony Entertainment Television.[1] The show is created by Qissago Telefilms LLP and produced by Ishrat Ara and Zama Habib. Starring Mudit Nayar, Simran Pareenja and Debattama Saha.[2] The story is set in the alleys of Chawri Bazar, Old Delhi. Indian Idol 10 finalist Ankush Bhardwaj has lent his voice to the title track of this show Ek Chup Tum, Ek Chup Main.[3] It is available on SonyLIV.[4]

The series halted on 30 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis, and later was announced that the show would not be coming back post the coronavirus pandemic.[5] The show was last aired on 31 March 2020 with 187 episodes.[6]

Plot

Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein is the story of Yogi, a hearing-impaired man whose spirited way of handling his own disability and the acceptance of the same by his family is inspiring. While the world has not been transitioned from "disabled" to "differently abled", Yogi sets an example by celebrating life to the fullest. He wants to fall in love, get married and lead a jubilant life. This story traces his boy to man journey of falling in love, getting his heart broken and finding love in the most unexpected corner. Love; that is not like him but that completes him.[7][8]

Yogesh Shrivastava (Yogi) live in a beautiful house in old Delhi along with family including his father Prakash Shrivastava , mother Kusum Shrivastava , grandparents Om and Geeta Shrivastava, brother Vivek , sister-in-law Rani, sister Khushi. Prakash nephew Kabir and his wife Nisha also live with them. Yogi is the apple of eyeryone's eye. Yogi is deaf and dumb since birth but never lets his disability make him lag behind in any way. He is very jovial and lives life to the fullest. He is able to lip read wonderfuly and often understands things like any normal person. He loves playing football but often gets scolded by Prakash who continually tells him to focus on their electronic repair shop. Yogi's brother Vivek is a radio drama artist while his sister-in-law Rani is a school teacher. His cousin Kabir is an investment banker. Even after his father's continuous lectures to focus on their shop, Yogi often ends up day dreaming. One day, while working in the shops he sees a beautiful girl, Gunjan Sharma passing by. He falls in love at first sight and follows her until he collides with a girl, Dr. Parineeti Ganguly (Pari) riding a scooty outside their colony. He misses the chance to meet Gunjan, while Pari being in hurry picks up her scooty and goes away accusing him unaware that Yogi is deaf and dumb. Next day, Yogi again follows Gunjan passing by his shop. He is mesmerized by her beauty and follows her until he again collides with Pari's scooty again at the same place. He again misses meeting Gunjan. This time Pari confronts him and asks for a hefty amount for damages caused her scooty. He even blackmails Yogi that if didn't give her the money she will accuse him of teasing her in front of the public gathered. While she was busy talking to a man in the public, Yogi quietly escapes from there leaving Pari baffled. After a few days, Yogi's happiness knows no bounds when he gets to know that his marriage has been fixed by her parents to the same girl he has been following these days. Yogi and his parents visit visit Gunjan's house. Gunjan belongs to a very wealthy family. Her mother's name is Seema and her father, a government officer, Shiv Kumar Sharma is Prakash's childhood friend. It is revealed that Gunjan lost his voice when she was young, in an accident, and therefore cannot speak. Yogi and Gunjan bond at their first official meeting. Yogi's father strictly tells him to not meet Gunjan before marriage. One day, when Gunjan was passing by their house in a rickshaw, Yogi follows her on his cycle. Unlike before, Gunjan is aware about it and appreciates his effort. His happiness is short-lived as he again collides with Park's scooty. Pari gathers people so that Yogi can't escape this time. Yogi tries to explain her that he is deaf and dumb but she doesn't listen believe him . Gunjan tries to help him but when he sees Prakash coming and she quickly escapes in the rickshaw as Yogi and she were not supposed to meet before marriage. Prakash intervenes in Yogi and Pari's fight. Prakash tells Pari that Yogi indeed can't speak or hear. But this doesn't change her mind. She still manages to take money from Prakash for Yogi damaging her scooty which indeed was not so damaged. Prakash blames Yogi for the money he had to give away to Pari. Pari revealed to be a very bubbly, modern girl and a dedicated doctor. She is from Kolkata and loves Bengali food. He often goes partying with her friends and also likes drinking occasionally. Because of her habit of coming late night from parties, her land lord throws her luggage out of the house. While she was riding the scooty with all her luggage, she collides with Yogi's grandfather Om Shrivastava. He gets a bit injured and Pari offers to drop him home. When they reach home, Yogi and Prakash identify her. While she was inside the house doing Om's dressing, her luggage disappears from her scooty. She creates a big scene in front of the entire neighbourhood. Her pleas melt Om and Geeta's heart and they allows her to stay with them as a paying guest. However, Yogi and other family members are against the idea. Finally Pari is given Yogi's room which is on the terrace and Yogi has been shifted to the drawing room. Yogi is terrified to see Pari working in the hospital when he secretly tries to meet Gunjan there. Pari collides with Yogi and Gunjan while walking in the corridor and the three of them fall, Pari again creates a scene claiming Yogi of following her everywhere in front of his in-laws. Khushi and Yogi somehow control the situation. Initially at loggerheads, Yogi and Pari eventually become friends when Pari offers to make Yogi meet Gunjan in her hospital. Pari even saved Yogi and Gunjan from embarrassing situations and helped him propose to Gunjan. Slowly, Pari begins to bond with the entire Shrivastava family. One day, Pari overhears that she would have to go from the house when Yogi will get married because Gunjan and he will live in Yogi's room. Pari gets scared and tries to convince Gunjan to allow her to live in the Shrivastava house who in turn convinces Yogi. Yogi shifts Pari with her sister, Khushi. On the day of the engagement, Pari accidentally wears the engagement ring for Gunjan following a hilarious set of events in which Yogi tries to chop Pari's finger, Gunjan pretends to faint, Pari roaming around wearing surgical gloves in the house full of guests. Pari and Yogi's friendship grows stronger after this incident. In between the wedding celebrations, Rani behaves strangely. Yogi overhears a conversation between Rani and Vivek in which Rani reveals that her uncle who molested her in her childhood is invited at Yogi's wedding. Later Yogi promises Rani that he will not let anything happen to her. Yogi's family who is unaware of this welcomes Rani's uncle with a warm heart. When Yogi finds Rani's uncle going into Rani's room, he warns him. Later, Pari schools Rani's uncle for looking at her inappropriately. Rani's uncle is attracted towards Khushi and tries to come close to her. She reveals in front of the entire family that he was watching her while she was changing. Rani and the women of the house beat him up and he is thrown out of the house. Rani's parents are also asked to leave the house because Rani's mother knew about all this but still kept quiet for the sake of family's reputation. At the pre-wedding photoshoot Yogi runs and saves Gunjan from a falling chandelier in the nick of time. However,Shiv Sharma gets angry as Yogi could have shouted and saved Gunjan much before but since he can't speak he put Gunjan's life in danger. He thinks that Yogi is not a suitable match for Gunjan and cancels the wedding on the day of the wedding. Yogi is heartbroken but he does not let it show to cheer up the family, but Pari sees him crying like a child in the van parked outside their house and feels apathetic towards him. The Srivastava family angrily cuts ties with the Sharmas. A day later, Yogi goes to meet Gunjan to check on her, but is stopped by an arrogant Shiv. Shiv warns Yogi several times and finally gets him arrested for nearly assaulting him. When the Srivastavs here about this, Prakash vents out on Yogi and subsequently gets a stroke. Yogi and his family and friends rush him to the hospital. On the Yogi clashes with Gunjan. Rani and Khushi yell at her for what she did to Yogi and warns her to get lost. At the hospital, Prakash becomes conscious. Shiv's wife Seema goes to meet Prakash and Yogi, but is shunned by Rani, Nisha, Khushi, and Kabir. The family later gets to know that Gunjan was already going to get married to Roshan, the son of Pradeep Chauhan, a real estate investor. Hearing this, Yogi is devastated. But Pari convinces him to try one last time and stop Gunjan's engagement but Gunjan being an obedient child refuses to go with Pari and Yogi and gets engaged to Roshan. Heartbroken, Yogi decides to move on in life. He and Pari begin to date.
