Musical career

Isaiah became interested in percussion at an early age. Upon seeing him banging on pots and pans at 2 years of age, Isaiah's father bought him a drum kit.[1] Isaiah began studying drums at Merriam School of Music in Mississauga in 2004, and two years later joined the Community Young Jazz Ensemble program at Humber.[1]

At MusicFest Canada, Isaiah was awarded the Zildjian Most Outstanding Young Drummer Award, and the Musician Excellence Award in 2008.[2] He later won the Humber College Tuition Scholarship in both 2012 and 2013.[3] Isaiah has played numerous festivals including the Muhtadi International Drumming Festival, the Beaches International Jazz Festival, and the Newmarket, Ontario Jazz Festival.[4]

Isaiah attended Iona Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario, where he was enrolled in the Regional Arts Program for music. Throughout his time at Iona, Isaiah performed in musicals, concerts and small ensembles. He played in the Kaleidoscope Jazz Quartet alongside classmates Lewis Mackenzie, David Cruz, and Warren Schlote.[5]

Currently, Isaiah plays with Moonhead, a pop soul/funk band headed by Sam Pomanti.[6]
