Inkaar (TV series)

Inkaar (Urdu: انکار, lit. 'Denial)') is a Pakistani television series, produced by Momina Duraid under their banner MD Productions. The series airs weekly on Hum TV every Monday replacing Aatish. It stars Yumna Zaidi, Imran Ashraf and Sami Khan.[1][2][3][4][5] It stars Noor Ul Hassan and Kinza Malik on fourth on-screen appearance together on TV after Sammi, Alif Allah Aur Insaan and Darr si jaati hai Sila.

Plot

Inkaar is about a story of a girl Hajra (Yumna Zaidi) who comes from a middle class background and studies in a university.She wants to fulfil her dreams and Her father Haji Ilyas (Rehan Sheikh) fully supports her. Hajra falls in love with Rehan Chaudhary(Imran Ashraf). Rehan was a friend of Shayan (Sami Khan). One day, Rehan Chaudhary calls Hajra to Shayan(Sami Khan) house and try to rape her. Shayan reaches there and saves Hajra.The whole matter closes there because things come on Hajra's honour(izzat). Hajra leaves university and Shayan started loving Hajra. Firstly, Shayan's father (Noor Hassan) disagrees due to class difference but further on he agrees. They both get engaged. On the other side when Rehan comes to know about their engagement, he goes heartbroken and he wanted Hajra, because he is obsessed with her. On Shayan and Hajra's marriage day, Rehan arrives in beauty salon where Hajra was getting ready. He tries that Hajra run away with him, but Hajra rejects him by saying No Means No. This makes Rehan furious and he stabs her with scissors 25 times. Now, the war between Hajra and Rehan starts.

Reception

Inkaar is considered as one of the best Pakistani dramas of 2019. Imran Ashraf's performance was highly acclaimed in whole drama. Despite being low on ratings, Inkaar received critical acclaim and highly positive reviews from critics due to its realistic portrayal and brilliant performances. Zahra Mirza of reviewit.pk praised everyone performance and said Yumna Zaidi, Imran Ashraf, Sami Khan, Munazzah Arif and Rehan Sheikh’s performances in this drama gave it the edge it needed to stand out. The makers of Inkaar kept everything real and to the point without compromising on showing details which were important to make the viewers understand the characters and relate to the story. Inkaar was meaningful as well as engaging, definitely one of the best Pakistani dramas this year.
