Indios, Guayanilla, Puerto Rico

Indios is a barrio in the municipality of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 2,647.[2][3][4]

History

The United States acquired Puerto Rico from Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish-American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and conducted its first census of Puerto Rico, finding that the combined population of Indios barrio and Boca barrio was 782.[5]

2019-2020 earthquakes

A series of earthquakes began occurring near Indios on December 28, 2019 and continued through January 2020, with 11 earthquakes over a 5 magnitude (and a 6.4) and 300 over a 3 magnitude in strength.[6]
