Ilakkangal

Ilakkangal is a 1982 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Mohan and produced by Innocent and David Kachappilli. The film stars Nedumudi Venu, Sudha, Innocent and Kaviyoor Ponnamma in the lead roles. This is Sudha's first major film role and the screen name used in Malayalam movies. Her actual name is Poornima Devi which she used as screen name in Telugu films made in her home state of Andhra Pradesh. The film has musical score by M. B. Sreenivasan.[1][2][3]

Plot

The film title means "The Emotional Upsurge" which is about a teen servant maid, Amminikutty who fantasizes about her employer's son Unni who works in Ranchi in another state, Bihar. She was employed after he left and has never met him but she likes his photos and the family talk about him. He comes down to his Kerala home on his first vacation leave from work. She develops a crush on him. Amminikutty's fantasies and varying emotions of a lovestruck teenager make the plot of this film.
