I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (season 3)

The third season of the mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice Malaysia premiered on February 16, 2020 (2020-02-16) on TV3. It is the Malaysian version of the South Korean namesaked program, which is in Malay language.[1]

Season chronology

It is originally slated to end this season on April 19,[2] then returned on May 31 for the Eid al-Fitr special episode,[3] and again but also extended for the second time on June 21.[4]

Gameplay

Format

Under the original format, the guest artist(s) can simply eliminate SEE-cret songers after every round concluded; and the last SEE-cret songer will do duet-perform with.

Rewards

The winning good singer(s) receives a potential recording contract and a single under Monkey Bone Records and Warner Music Malaysia while the winning bad singer(s) gets RM 3,000 ($750).[5][4]

Rounds

There were six individuals of SEE-cret songers standing on the platform with its aliases to keep their identities concealed until its initial performance.

Round 1: Singer's visual

Each SEE-cret songer is given two identities – as a good singer and as a bad singer. Only one of them is their real identity.

Round 2: Singer's lip-sync

The SEE-cret songer lip-syncs to the good singer's voice, then the bad singer's voice comes in the middle of the performance.

Round 3: Singer's evidence
  • The hosts of the show have randomly assigned clues about the SEE-cret songer. The guest artist(s) must choose a clue for each SEE-cret songer.[lower-alpha 1]
  • A proof of each SEE-cret songer's singing ability (i.e. photo, video, certificates, etc) is shown on the screen. Good singers have their own evidences while bad singers had their evidences fabricated.[lower-alpha 2]
Round 4: Singer's verdict

The guest artist(s) must have then 60 seconds to make an interview to the remaining SEE-cret songers before making the final decision, at which point is depending on every SING-vestigators' opinion and/or an audience's majority voting.

ICSYV Showcase (June 15, 2020)

In this season, all of seven winning good singers participated in an online showcase, at which one of seven entrants could receive a recording contract and a single under Monkey Bone Records and Warner Music Malaysia.

The winner is determined through criteria of judging, with 60% of professional jury (composed of Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Izham Omar, Warner Music Malaysia artist and repertoire director Raqeem Brian, SING-vestigator Yusry Abdul Halim, composer Audi Mok, and musical artist Mas Dewangga); and 40% of public votes casted through Xtra website from May 31 to June 14, 2020.[18]
