In 1968, the Chambers Brothers' version of this song reached number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.[1]

The 1968 version of the song was used as the opening music for the 1968 American TV series, the Ann-Margret Show. The sped up version was also used as the introduction music to live performances by The Blues Brothers.

The song serves as the entrance theme for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team.
