In 2019, ID Africa expanded its scope of services to media and publishing, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle after acquisition of a media company, the NET Newspaper Limited (NNL).[1][2][3][4][5]

History

ID Africa was founded in 2015 as a digital communications firm providing strategic communication, digital community management, social media marketing and digital advertising. In February 2019, ID Africa acquired NET Newspaper Limited (NNL) including all its subsidiaries which consist Nigerian Entertainment Today (theNETng) an online publishing platform that covers African entertainment and pop culture news, Neusroom, 234star (a  fashion and lifestyle platform), Orin (a music-streaming platform) and Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) an annual gathering of entertainment industry professionals in Nigeria.[6][7][8][9] After the acquisition, ID Africa announced that its focus was to become a 360  marketing communications and media company[2] that leverages technology tools and creative contents to connect its clients and target audience. ID Africa named Femi Falodun its Chief Executive Officer.[10]

In 2019 ID Africa reported a year-on-year revenue growth averaging 40 per cent.[11][12] In 2015, ID Africa launched a web App called Nigerian Twitter Map which tracks trending topics and their creators on Nigerian Twitter, to identify and categorize creative social media influencers.[13]

Awards

ID Africa has been named twice (2018 and 2019) as the Best PR Agency Using New Media and Best Digital PR Company by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.[14][15]
