I-494 Minnesota River Bridge

The I-494 Minnesota River Bridge is a bridge on Interstate 494 (I-494) that connects Bloomington, and Eagan. The bridge connects the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and Bloomington to the west, with I-35E and Eagan to the east. It has a slight S-curve shape, and has a pedestrian walkway on its southern span. The bridge is the zero point for mileage along the I-494 / I-694 beltway. The bridge opened in late 1982, and was one of the last structures built for I-494 in the metro area. In 1996, the bridge had an average annual daily traffic count of 44,000.[1] The southbound bridge is just under 1,400 feet (430 m) long, and the northbound span is just over 1,500 feet (460 m) long, with the longest span of both bridges being 260 feet (79 m).[2][3]
