Hollywood Wax Museum Myrtle Beach

The museum is part of the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center. Other attractions in the same facility include Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors and Outbreak – Dread the Undead[3]

Wax figures and sets continue to change regularly. The Hollywood Wax Museum also has a gift shop, which offers celebrity souvenirs and memorabilia like Oscar statues.

Movie stars include (when it opened in 2014 with 110 total wax figures, each with a sign and facts): Eddie Murphy (the first wax person you come to), Robert Downey Jr. in front of a mural of Grauman's Chinese Theatre (they play the 1937 song "Hooray for Hollywood" here, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie on the red carpet in front of a mural of the L.A. skyline (you can wear a suit coat prop next to them, they are now split up in the museum), Jennifer Aniston & Morgan Freeman (was in Glory (1989 film)) on the red carpet, Sandra Bullock & Will Smith (who actually came to Myrtle Beach to open Planet Hollywood in 1997, was in the golf film The Legend of Bagger Vance filmed in Charleston), Nicolas Cage in National Treasure 2004, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones (you can wear a fedora and a boa snake prop next to him, and they play his theme song), Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 2003 (you can wear a pirate hat with dreds next to him), (James Dean (you can sit next to him on a stool), Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, and Humphrey Bogart (1940s star) at a soda fountain), Denzel Washington in Flight (2012 film) (was in Glory (1989 film) set in Charleston), you can "marry" George Clooney, John Wayne (you can hold a gun prop next to him), Clint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (they play the theme music to that film), Meryl Streep (the oldest living female star there), Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's (they play the real Audrey singing "Moon River"), Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris 2011 (you can drink a coffee prop with him at the table), Canadian Jim Carrey, action stars like: British Jason Statham, Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious (2001 film), Matt Damon (was in The Legend of Bagger Vance), Mark Wahlberg in a Boston setting, Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump 1994 (which was filmed in SC), Jennifer Lawrence (was in The Hunger Games filmed in the mtns. of NC) & Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Hong Kong native Bruce Lee (they play Chinese music here, and you can hold a bow staff next to him), Dame Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra (1963 film) (they play Egyptian music here), Canadian Brendan Fraser in The Mummy (1999 film), Twilight (2008 film) stars British Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (they play "Decode (song)" here), Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone as Rocky, Al Pacino in The Godfather, British Daniel Craig in Cowboys & Aliens 2011, Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator (you can hold a gun prop next to him), Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables (2012 film), Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde 2001, British Christian Bale, Jamie Foxx (also a singer), British Catherine Zeta-Jones, Matthew McConaughey, Canadian Keanu Reeves, John Travolta, Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski 1998, Sir Sean Connery (the oldest living star there) in The Hunt for Red October, Samuel L. TV stars include: Lucille Ball (the oldest deceased female star there, born in 1911) in I Love Lucy (they play that show's theme, you can hold a Vitameataveggin can next to Lucy), Leonard Nimoy & Canadian William Shatner in Star Trek: The Original Series (you can wear a Star Trek shirt and they play the theme music, Star Trek was still relevant at this time due to the Chris Pine films), Princess Diana, Martha Stewart (who hosted Martha Stewart Living from 1993 to 2005), Elvira's Movie Macabre, Tales From the Crypt, Paris Hilton in 00s tabloids, Hugh Hefner (d.2017) (you can wear bunny ears next to him).

There's also a display of film props like a golden ticket from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, a Darth Vader mask from Star Wars in 1977, a ticket from Coming to America, dogtags from Top Gun 1986, the Men in Black 1997 neuralyzer (which was still relevant due to Men in Black 3), Wilson the volleyball from Cast Away 2000, a ring from Lord of the Rings (film) 2001 (which was still relevant due to The Hobbit films) and a Mockingjay pin from The Hunger Games 2012.

A section on horror film villains (where they play organ horror music) includes: Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th (1980 film), Ghostface (character) from Scream (franchise), The Crypt-Keeper from the 90s Tales from the Crypt (TV series), Alien, The Lord of Darkness in the Tom Cruise film Legend (1985 film), Boris Karloff in The Mummy (1932 film), Boris Karloff in Frankenstein (1931 film), Hellboy 2004, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Elvira's Movie Macabre show, and Bela Lugosi in Dracula (1931 English-language film).

Musicians include: Pop musicians: a 90s Michael Jackson (they play his 1979 song "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" here), Madonna (who performed at the Super Bowl in 2012), Mariah Carey (who had the hit song "Beautiful" in 2013), Britney Spears (came to Myrtle Beach House of Blues, had the #1 song "Hold It Against Me" in 2011), Selena Gomez (also an actress, the youngest female star there), Katy Perry (came to MB House of Blues), P!nk (the final wax figure you see, they play her 2010 song "Raise Your Glass"), Lady Gaga (have her suit in the new MB Hard Rock Cafe), Beyonce (they play her 2009 song "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", have her dress in the new MB Hard Rock), Justin Timberlake (also an actor, they play his 2013 song "Take Back the Night"), Justin Bieber (the youngest star there, born in 1994), Jennifer Lopez (also an actress), Puerto Rican Ricky Martin, Donnie Osmond & Marie Osmond (with a disco ball), Frank Sinatra (also an actor, in a Vegas setting, you can wear a fedora and hold a martini prop next to him, they play his 1969 song "My Way"), Rappers: Eminem in a Detroit setting (came to MB House of Blues in 2000, had the #1 song "The Monster" in 2014), Will Smith (also an actor).

Country musicians: Taylor Swift (they play her 2012 song "I Knew You Were Trouble" here and you can hold a microphone next to her, she came to MB House of Blues, they have a top she wore at new MB Hard Rock Cafe) & Carrie Underwood (in a Nashville setting), Dolly Parton (they play her 1973 song "Jolene", she owns Pirates Voyage in MB) & Johnny Cash (you can hold a guitar and wear a cowboy hat next to them, they play his 1963 song "Ring of Fire", had his boots in the old MB Hard Rock, he played at MB House of Blues when it opened in 1997), Rock stars: Elvis (also an actor, had his soundboard in the old Myrtle Beach Hard Rock Cafe) and Mexican-born Carlos Santana (they play his 1999 song "Smooth", had his guitar in the old MB Hard Rock Cafe). The museum is very complete with its musicians since it has the best-selling musicians of the 50s-Elvis, 80s-Michael Jackson, 90s-Mariah Carey, 00s-Eminem, and 10s-Taylor Swift. And Frank Sinatra was one of the best selling musicians of the 60s.

Deceased wax stars at the museum include Robin Williams (who died a few months after it opened), Michael Jackson (d.2009), Johnny Cash (d.2003), Elvis, Frank Sinatra, James Dean (d.1955), Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lucille Ball, Leonard Nimoy (d.2015), Hugh Hefner (d.2017), John Wayne, Bruce Lee, Dale Earnhardt, and Princess Diana.

Sports stars include Tiger Woods from the late 90s and 00s (appropriate due to Myrtle Beach's many golf courses), Dale Earnhardt (d.2001) (you can hold a trophy next to him, he set the record for Most Laps Led at Darlington Raceway) & Dale Jr., and Sylvester Stallone as Rocky 1976 (you can wear a boxing robe next to him, they play "Gonna Fly Now" here).

The original Hollywood Wax Museum in Hollywood, California, was opened in 1965.[4] The Hollywood Wax Museum Branson in Branson, Missouri, was opened in April 1996, and the Hollywood Wax Museum Pigeon Forge in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, opened in May 2012.
