Nodoka Hanadera (花寺のどか, Hanadera Nodoka) / Cure Grace (キュアグレース, Kyua Gurēsu)[1]

A girl who is the pink-colored Pretty Cure of Flowers, her fairy partner is Rabirin[1] and has moved to Sukoyaka City. She is very calm and goes at her own pace, and strives to try many different things, but doesn't have the athletic ability to accomplish most of them. Above all this, she has a very kind heart and just wants to be of use to someone.

Chiyu Sawaizumi (沢泉ちゆ, Sawaizumi Chiyu) / Cure Fontaine (キュアフォンテーヌ, Kyua Fontēnu)[1]

Voiced by: Natsu Yorita[1]

A girl who is the blue-colored Pretty Cure of Water, her fairy partner is Pegitan[1] and has a hygienic and cheerful lifestyle. She's the older sister type who, if she sees anything wrong, will do anything to help. She's very serious with a strong sense of responsibility and will try to do everything herself. She is sporty, being the ace of the school's track and field team, and smart as well, especially when it comes to science.

Hinata Hiramitsu (平光ひなた, Hiramitsu Hinata) / Cure Sparkle (キュアスパークル, Kyua Supākuru)[1]

Voiced by: Hiyori Kono[1]

A girl who is the yellow-colored Pretty Cure of Light and her fairy partner is Nyatoran.[1] Bright, outgoing and friendly, she tends to speak her mind, relevant or not. She is an honest girl, always apologizing once she realizes she did something wrong. She isn't good at studying. She absolutely loves fashion and cosmetics but is so fond of it that she isn't great at judging it fairly.

Asumi Furin (風鈴アスミ, Fūrin Asumi) / Cure Earth (キュアアース, Kyua Āsu)[2]

Voiced by: Suzuko Mimori[3]

Asumi is a new character who transforms into Cure Earth.

A group of medical fairy animals who reside in the Healing Garden and can cure diseases caused by the Byougens.

Rabirin (ラビリン, Rabirin)[1]

Voiced by: Ai Kakuma[1]

A pink Cottontail rabbit-like fairy and Nodoka's fairy partner.[1] She has a strong sense of justice and very high-spirited, but makes mistakes sometimes.

Pegitan (ペギタン, Pegitan)[1]

Voiced by: Hana Takeda[1]

A blue Emperor penguin-like fairy and Chiyu's fairy partner.[1] He is very intelligent, but is shy and lacking in confidence. Despite being modest, he will do what he can if things aren't working out right. He loves hot springs.

Nyatoran (ニャトラン, Nyatoran)[1]

Voiced by: Aki Kanada[1]

A yellow tiger-cat hybrid fairy and Hinata's fairy partner.[1] Like Hinata, he is very free-spirited and says whatever is on his mind. He is also a show-off who tries to act cool.

Latte (ラテ, Rate)[1]

Voiced by: Haruka Shiraishi[1]

A brown Cocker Spaniel-like fairy who is the Young Princess of the Healing Garden (ヒーリングガーデンの幼い王女さま)[1] She does not speak and can only bark like a normal dog, but others can use a stethoscope to hear her inner voice. Like her mother, she can detect Byougens' attack, but when she uses too much power, she becomes very weak.

Teatine (テアティーヌ, Teatīnu)

Voiced by: Keiko Toda[4]

Latte's mother. She is an adult Afghan Hound-like fairy and the ruler of the Healing Garden. Healing Animals reveal that she is severly wounded after her clash with King Byougen and the only survivor who didn't fell for Byougen's disease and remain in her homeland.

The Elemental Spirits (エレメントさん, Eremento-san) are the spirits residing in the environment and objects. The Byougens corrupts them with NanoByougen which turn them into Megabyougens. After being purified, the spirits need to be treated by the Cures so Latte will be cured. The voices of these characters are Yumiri Hanamori, Sayaka Senbongi and Ai Furihata.

Flower (花, Hana)

A flower Elemental Spirit that resides in the flowers.

Tree (木, Ki)

A tree Elemental Spirit that resides in the trees and forest.

Water (水, Mizu)

A water Elemental Spirit that resides in the water source.

Light (光, Hikari)

A light Elemental Spirit that resides in the glass and mirror.

Bubble (泡, Awa)

A bubble Elemental Spirit that resides in the water tank.

Fruit (実, Mi)

A fruit Elemental Spirit that resides in the fruit.

Rain (雨, Ame)

A rain Elemental Spirit that resides in the raindrop.

Ice (氷, Kori)

An ice Elemental Spirit that resides in the ice object.

Gem (宝石, Hōseki)

A gem Elemental Spirit that resides in the gemstone and jewelry.

The series' main antagonists. Byougens (ビョーゲンズ, Byōgenzu) is a mysterious group residing in Byougen Kingdom (ビョーゲンキングダム, Byōgen Kingudamu) whose motive is to infect the Healing Garden and corrupt the world with its epidemic to reawaken King Byougen. Its name came from the Japanese word "Byouki no kigen" (病気の起源, Byōki no kigen), meaning "origin of (a) disease". They are based on demons.

King Byougen (キングビョーゲン, Kingu Byōgen)

The leader of the Byougens and the primary antagonist of the series, a ruthless demon who was defeated by the Cures long time ago when he almost conquered the Healing Garden and defeat Teatinu, which caused his body and ended up as a dormant spirit. In order to re-obtain his body, he assigned his minions to spread disease to Earth to complete his body.

The loyal minions of King Byougen, who aim to spread disease to Earth in order to reawaken him. They use NanoByougen (ナノビョーゲン, Nanobyōgen) to corrupt Elemental Spirits to create giant monsters called MegaByougen (メガビョーゲン, Megabyōgen).[5] All generals has scorpion-like tail while the trio has horns comes out of their head and wearing red coat.

Daruizen (ダルイゼン)[6]

Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura[7]

A calm green haired boy who speaks softly and looks down upon the Healing Animals. He usually has a laid-back attitude. He can throw projectiles by creating a dark orb. His name is based off the word "Darui" (だるい), which means sluggish or languid.

Shindoine (シンドイーネ)

Voiced by: Shizuka Itō[8]

A wicked woman with purple hair who is very devoted to King Byougen - she will do anything to please him, and often argues with her allies when they speak against him. Her name is based off the word "Shindoi" (しんどい), which means tired or bothersome in Kansai dialect.

Guaiwaru (グアイワル)

Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto[9]

A fierce muscular man with orange hair who solves problems by crushing his foes with brute force. His name is based off the words "Guai" (具合) and "Warui" (悪い), meaning bad health.

Batetemoda (バテテモーダ)

Voiced by: Sōichirō Hoshi[10]

A cocky humanoid nutria who was infected by the Byougen seed spawned by Daruizen's MegaByougen. Unlike the other three generals, he does not have horns but wears a jacket and slippers. He is a strong fighter who battles for fun and he sees the other generals as his family.

Takeshi Hanadera (花寺たけし, Hanadera Takeshi)[11]

Voiced by: Eiji Hanawa[11]

Nodoka's father. He works as an architect.

Yasuko Hanadera (花寺やすこ, Hanadera Yasuko)[12]

Voiced by: Kazusa Murai[12]

Nodoka's mother. She started working as a delivery truck driver after the family moved to Sukoyama.

Nao Sawaizumi (沢泉なお, Sawaizumi Nao)[13]

Voiced by: Mayumi Sako[13]

Chiyu's mother. She is the owner of her family inn.

Yota Hiramitsu (平光ようた, Hiramitsu Yota)[14]

Hinata's older brother. He works as a veterinarian.

Mei Hiramitsu (平光めい, Hiramitsu Mei)[14]

Hinata's older sister. She is the owner of the "Café Wonderful Juice" juice bar.

Nodoka's classmate who tries to get the latest scoop in school. He attempts to stalk Nodoka, who he believes is involved with the Byougens' attacks.

Miraclun (ミラクルン, Mirakurun)

Voiced by: Kurumi Inagaki[19]

A clock-like fairy who represents "tomorrow". She has the power to create Miraclun Lights, and is being chased down by Refrain.

Refrain (リフレイン, Rifurein)

Voiced by: Hiroaki Hirata[20]

The main antagonist in Pretty Cure Miracle Leap, and a spirit who represents "yesterday". He is after Miraclun for a currently unknown reason.

On October 23, 2019, the Japan Patent office reported a filing for the series.[21] On November 28, 2019, Toei Animation opened the site for Healin' Good PreCure.[22] A baton pass featuring Cure Star, the lead cure of the previous Pretty Cure season Star Twinkle PreCure, and Cure Grace, along with Fuwa and Latte was shown at the end of episode 49, the final episode of Star Twinkle PreCure.[23] The series is directed by Yoko Ikeda, with Junko Komura handling series' composition, Naoko Yamaoka designing the characters, and Shiho Terada composing the music.[24] It began airing on ANN on February 2, 2020 with an announcement show in Sunshine City, Tokyo that was broadcast live on YouTube the day before the series' premiere.[25] The 13th episode, originally scheduled to air on April 26, 2020, was postponed until June 28, 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, with the series re-airing select episodes during this time.[26][27] Crunchyroll have announced that they will be streaming the series with subtitles in North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Latin America.[28]

Characters from the series will appear in the crossover film Pretty Cure Miracle Leap: A Strange Day with Everyone (映画プリキュアミラクルリープ みんなとの不思議な1日, Eiga Purikyua Mirakuru Rīpu: Min'na to no Fushigi na ichinichi), which also features the PreCure from Hugtto! PreCure and Star Twinkle PreCure.[29][30] The film was originally scheduled for release on March 20, 2020, but had been delayed to May 16, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and on April 26, 2020, it got postponed again until further notice.[31][32][33]
