Head of the Donetsk People's Republic

Head of the Donetsk People's Republic is the highest elected official of Donetsk People's Republic, a unrecognized country located on the territory of Donetsk Oblast (province) in eastern Ukraine. According to the Constitution, Head of the Republic is the head of state and has executive power.

Elections of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic

Elections of the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic are carried out on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a period of five years. The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic is a citizen of the DPR who does not have foreign citizenship, is not younger than 30 years old, has the right to vote and has no criminal record. For registration, the candidate must provide at least 10,000 signatures of voters. The same person cannot be the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic for more than two consecutive terms. [1]

The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic cannot be a member of public associations, cannot be a deputy of the Parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic, and cannot occupy any other positions in state and public structures, business entities.
