History

Hanswar is a small town situated on the banks of river Ghaghra (locally known as Saryu). From the pre-historic period to the time of Akbar, the limits of the province and its internal divisions seem to have been constantly changing, and the name of Oudh, or Awadh, seems to have been applicable to only one of the ancient divisions or Sarkars, nearly corresponding to old Pachhimrath. The title of Subedar of Awadh is mentioned as early as 1280 A.D.

Samal Tar

There was a tree of peepal for almost 100 years. Which was located beside Mohammad Shafi National Intercollege for a few years. An old Baba used to sit on that tree. His name was Samal Baba. That is why the people of Hanswar started calling the place Samal Tar. The tree was old, so the followers of Hindu religion used to worship that tree. But by 2019 the tree has completely fallen. Some young leaders of the village tried to divide Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. Those people became successful. The Hindu brothers of the village were on one side and the Muslim brothers on other side. In other words, we can say that the land has been disputed. In the said case, action was also taken by Hanswar police against more than two dozen people of both sides in sections of peace. After the matter reached Tehsil, Tanda Deputy District Magistrate Mahendra Pal Singh took the above case very seriously and immediately. After the fair and festivals in the last days, on 29 August 2019, the Deputy District Magistrate Mr. Singh, who reached the spot at about 3 o'clock in the first leisure, had a long talk with both the sides and with the consent of both sides, he planted a new peepal tree at the same place and planted it. Besides planting trees, a few feet high and wide platform was also agreed on both sides. People from both sides were present in planting the tree.
