He was married in the Buenos Aires Cathedral to María Cristina Ross del Pozo Silva,[11] daughter of Guillermo Ross, a Scottish military man, who professed the Protestant religion and Maria Antonia del Pozo Silva y Toledo, born in 1719 in Buenos Aires.[12] He and his wife were the parents of numerous children, including Hilario Ramos Mexía, Francisco Ramos Mejía and Ildefonso Ramos Mexía, Governor of Buenos Aires Province in 1820.[13]
