Gnanapureeswarar Temple, Tiruvadishoolam

Gnanapureeswarar Temple, Tiruvadishoolam (ஞானபுரீஸ்வரர் கோயில், திருவடிசூலம்)[1] is a Hindu temple located at Tiruvadishoolam near Chengalpattu in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is Shiva.

Legend

According to Hindu legend, Shiva appeared to Sambandar in the guise of a shepherd at this spot.

Significance

It is one of the shrines of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams. Sambandar has sung hymns in praise of the temple in his Thevaram. There are also shrines to Vinayaka, Brahmandeswara and Brahmandeswari.
