Career

Lupien was born in Lachute, Quebec and raised in Brownsburg-Chatham, Quebec. He started his career with the Montreal Canadiens in 1977, and later played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Hartford Whalers. He won two Stanley Cups with Montreal in 1978 and 1979.

Lupien later became a professional hockey agent, and represented Steve Bernier, Corey Crawford, Sean Couturier, and Roberto Luongo.

Lupien was the agent for an unnamed player from the Drummondville Voltigeurs who contacted him regarding sexual advances by the team's coach Jean Bégin. Lupien later reported the incidents to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, but the matter was disregarded as the league said there was no proof of misconduct. Bégin was later convicted.[2][3]
