Gilles Carbonnier

Gilles Carbonnier is vice-president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since the spring of 2018.[1] He is also professor of development economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva.[2]

Carbonnier is best known for pioneering the scholarly field of humanitarian economics with the publication in 2016 of a monograph at Oxford University Press, Humanitarian Economics: War, Disaster, and the Global Aid Market.[3]

He is regularly quoted in news media.[4][5][6]
