Gbagyi Child

Gbagyi Child[1] is the second studio album by Nigerian recording artist Bez Idakula. It was released on 18 November 2016 independently through Bez Idakula Global. The album was co-written and produced by Cobhams Asuquo and features Simi and Yemi Alade. The album lead singles are "My Baby", "There's a Fire", "You Suppose Know" and they are the opening tracks of the album.

Overview

Gbagyi Child was recorded in Plateau State in a village[2] located in Jos according to Bez Idakula. He spoke to Soundcity TV on his culture and the inspiration behind his album. The album was exclusively released to MTN Music Plus[3] for a while before it was made available in physical stores nationwide and global stores on December 10, 2016. The album was named after his sister Lydia Idakula event center in Lagos "Gbagyi Child Entertainment" known as the home for art & culture for upcoming artist, a place he grew up performing every weekend whenever his in Lagos.

Critical reception

Gbagyi Child received widespread critical acclaim upon release. Pulse Nigeria[4] rated the album 4.5 out of 5 stars, and called it "the perfect body of work" and according to the rating by Pulse Nigeria, the album was classified "amazing".

Concert & Tour

His headline concert "Bez Live: The Gbagyi child"[5] was held on 24 December 2016 at the Muri Okunola Park. He was supported on stage by; Kaliné, Johnny Drille, Aramide and Maka. According to Isime Esene[6] of YNaija "It was electrifying, splendidly entertaining with a tinge of sweet spiritual surrender. Bez Live 2016 was great music served properly. Live, loud, organic, and endlessly thrilling".
