Garry King

Garry King is a British-born drummer and producer who runs a studio in South West France. At present he is the drummer and producer of Country Rock act A.G.D 'A Good Day'.[1]

Previous work has involved recording and touring with artists such as Joe Lynn Turner, Jeff Beck, Darkyra Black, Thiago Trinsi, Lucio Manca, Rick Hale, Chester Knight, Exorcism[2] to name a few and has worked on published music for film and television.

Biography

Born in Woking, Surrey United Kingdom Garry now resides in South West France. He started playing at the age of 9 and during his time in the UK worked with a number of top artists including studio work with Jeff Beck. Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, Solo) Live Tours and Studio

In 2000 he moved to the US after an introduction to Nashville's head of Global marketing Bob Sapority at Warner brothers records where he lived until 2005 mainly in New Mexico and started the Making it Count Music motivation program now named A.M.P Inspires, aimed at middle and high school students. Garry now runs La Foret Studio/Productions where he lives and works on multiple sessions worldwide with a team of amazing writers and musicians.

In early 2018 he started Got Your Six Music with business partner and drummer Dan Chantrey already working with a number of international acts they hope to put a little bit of the 'Old School Spirit' back into their part of the music industry.

Rick Hale

Also during this time he worked with Grammy-nominated producer and writer Rick Hale and Grammy board of director, artist, producer and head of Sound of America Records Tom Bee. King moved back to Europe at the end of 2005 and set up a studio and small production company working for other artists.

Tour with Joe Lynn Turner

In 2009/10 he played on and co-produced with bassist Andy Robbins two large tours in Brasil with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Deep Purple vocalist Joe Lynn Turner and since then has continued a close connection with Brazil.[3]

Online Recording Masters

In 2011 he partnered with Online Recording Masters in Greece opening more doors to production and recording.[4]

Studio Work

Recording many times over the years but from 2011 to present in his own studio he has worked on a number of other large original projects as drummer and producer including Achillea, Australian Gothic Metal female artist Darkyra Black, recording drums, editing and mixing both of her records 'Dragon Tears' and 'Fool' with producer George Boussounis. King has also played and worked on countless tracks for TV and film as well as some progressive instrumental tracks with Thiago Trinsi and Mike LePond bassist of Symphony X[5]

Garry works continuously in the studio with music partner Paul Jupe on other multiple sessions for publishing as well as their main project A.G.D 'A Good Day' New Country music which was released February 2019 getting multiple radio plays in the UK and Europe including pays from the BBC and classic Radio Caroline..

Exorcism

Garry joined the very very short lived multinational doom metal act Exorcism with Guitar Virtuoso Joe Stump in August 2013 where he met the amazing bassist and musician Lucio Manca. Together they have recorded on countless tracks since then including the now released A.G.D 'A Good Day' record.

Gear

King is endorsed by and uses Magix / Samplitude Prox 4 DAW and software in the studio as well as Sabian Cymbals,[6] Vic Firth Drum Sticks, Cosmic Ears, and HansenFutz practice pedals but also uses Sonor Drums, Gibraltar Pedals, Adam Audio and Auratone Monitors and recently became and avid user of Icon Pro Audio controllers,
