Fortenova Group

Fortenova Group is a conglomerate headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia. Fortenova grupa d.d. was established on 1 April 2019, following the successful implementation of the Settlement Plan achieved between Agrokor's creditors. The creditors' Settlement is a financial and ownership restructuring plan achieved during the Extraordinary Administration Procedure conducted at Agrokor pursuant to the Act on Extraordinary Administration Proceedings in Companies of Systemic Importance for the Republic of Croatia. Fortenova Group is one of the largest companies in Southeast Europe.

Fortenova Group operates in five markets of South East Europe and it is a market leader in all core businesses and in most of the countries in which it operates. In Fortenova Group's product portfolio are some of the strongest regional brands in mineral waters – Jamnica, Jana, Sarajevski kiseljak, Mivela, ice cream – Ledo and Frikom, edible oil – Zvijezda and Dijamant, margarine – Margo and Dobro jutro, mayonnaise – Zvijezda and Dijamant, meat and meat products – PIK Vrbovec, wine – Vina Laguna and Vina Belje - boast internationally recognized quality and a very high level of recognition among consumers. Two products in Fortenova Groups's portfolio have Protected Designation of Origin at the EU level – Baranjski kulen and Paška sol including Salt flower.[1]

Konzum, Mercator, Idea and Roda are key brands used by the Fortenova Group's retail segment to communicate with consumers in their markets.

The Fortenova Group manages the largest agricultural areas in Europe and features diversified production including cereal and oil crops, livestock farms and cheese production, as well as fresh fruit and vegetable production. In its companies in the five countries of the SE Europe, Fortenova Group employs 52.000 employees. It is the largest employer in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and the second largest employer in Serbia.

History

Fortenova Group commenced operations on 1 April 2019, taking over assets of indebted conglomerate Agrokor.[2] At the time of establishment, it had a total of 159 subsidiary companies in which 52,000 people are employed.[3]

In September 2019, Fortenova Group issued 1.16 billion euros in four-year bonds to refinance a 2017 loan.[4]
