Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria

Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) was established as Federal Department of Forestry Research in 1954.[1] The Institute’s Decree 35 of 1973 and order establishing Research Institute of 1977 changed the status of the Department to an institute being supervised by the Federal Ministry of Environment, but the only Research Institute of the Ministry. For the purpose of developing the nation's education, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, have a subsidiary college name Federal College of Forestry located in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria charged with training and developing Forestry and Agricultural practice.[2] The Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan (FEDCOFOR) has six specialized research departments (each having various specialized sections), three support departments. The Federal College Of Forestry, Ibadan is a monotechnic offering both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).
