Folk Orthodoxy

Folk Orthodoxy (Russian: народное православие, Serbian: народно православље (lat. narodno pravoslavlje)) refers to the folk religion, syncretic elements, present in the Eastern Orthodox Christian communities. The peasantry incorporated many pre-Christian ("pagan") beliefs and observances, including coordination of feast days with agricultural life, etc.
