Floro Vega
Floro Vega (1830 - c.1900) was an Argentine military man, who served as Edecan of the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires.[1] He participated in several military conflicts, including the Battle of Caseros [2] and Conquest of the Desert.[3]

Biography
He was born in Buenos Aires, the son of Luis Vega and Martina Blanco, belonging to old Creole families of the city. He began his military career in 1849, and was appointed as a police officer of the Argentine Confederation after the Battle of Caseros.[4] He served under the command of the General Justo José de Urquiza and General Julio Argentino Roca, taking part in the Civil Wars, and military expeditions against the Indians in Patagonia.[5]
He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel of Cavalry on July 9, 1884,[6] and served as Edecán of the Province of Buenos Aires during the government of Dardo Rocha.[7]
Family
He was married twice, first with Margarita Soreira, daughter of Santiago Soreira and Victoria Monterroso, belonging distinguished families from Rosario and Buenos Aires.[8] His second marriage was with María Alegre, daughter of Narciso Alegre and Isidora Terraga.[9]
His wives were linked directly and indirectly to the families of Casimiro Alegre, Ramón Sorayre and Tomás O'Gorman,[10] military of the colonial and postcolonial period of Argentina. His daughter Luisa Vega, was married to Luis Rodríguez, a grandson of Martín Rodríguez.[11]
