The length of the forewings is 20–23 mm. It is similar to Eupanacra malayana. There are no gold bands on the upperside of the abdomen. The ground colour of the forewing upperside is pale grey, although the area beyond the submarginal line is much paler than the rest of the wing. The ground colour of the forewing underside is sooty-grey, making the lines hardly visible. There is a dirty white median band on the hindwing upperside, which extends into a paler and more extensive area on the inner margin.
