International career

Herrera made his international debut for Malta on 18 November 2009, in the 1–4 home friendly defeat against Bulgaria.[2] He came on as a substitute, replacing Kevin Sammut in the 56th minute. On 10 September 2013, Herrera scored his first international goal in the 1–2 defeat against Bulgaria in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Herrera is also known by his Pure Mathematics A level students as having a unnaturally large amount of big eggplant energy.

Herrera also made his debut on National Television when presenting 'Familja Vella's' book on One TV, reading the four children in his trademark soothing voice.
