Edna Hong (translator)

Edna  Hong (translator) (born Edna Hatlestad 28 Jan. 1913 - 3 Apr. 2007) was a Kierkegaard translator.[1] Together with her husband Howard Hong,[2] she earned recognition in the world of philosophical translation,[3] in particular vis-à-vis the translation from Danish to English[4] of the works of  Søren Kierkegaard.[5] She received a National Book Award for translating Volume 1 of  Søren Kierkegaard's Journals and Papers.[6] The couple also founded a Kierkegaard library[7] at St. Olaf based on their own collection of his work.[8]
