Ecem Cumert

Ecem Cumert (born February 7, 1998) is a Turkish-German football midfielder currently playing in the Turkish Women's First Football League for Ataşehir Belediyespor with jersey number 22. She is a member of the Turkey women's team.

Ecem Cumert was born and raised in Ehingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany on February 7, 1998.[1] She has dual citizenship of Germany and Turkey.[2]

Playing career

Club

Cumert played in Germany for SC Freiburg in the German Frauen-Bundesliga.[3] Between 2014 and 2017, she capped 22 times and scored four goals in total.[2] At the end of the 2016–17 Frauen-Regionalliga season, her team became champion of the Group South and was promoted to the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga.[4]

In September 2017, she moved to Turkey and transferred to the Istanbul-based Ataşehir Belediyespor to play in the Turkish Women's First Football League.[1][5]

Cumert played for the Turkey women's national U-19 team in three matches of the at the 2017 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship qualification – Group 10.[6][7][8][9][10][11]

She was admitted to the Turkey women's national team and debuted internationally in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup qualification – UEFA preliminary round – Group 4 match against Montenegro.[3][12]
