History

Double Dutch Drinks was founded by Dutch twins Joyce and Raissa de Haas. The company was founded as a result of the sisters winning the most promising startup prize from the University College London for their business plan centered around creating a drink mixer company.[7] The award provided the sisters with a cash investment, a free year of office space and a mentorship which they used to found Double Dutch Drinks.[8] The company released its first products in early 2015.[9]

Double Dutch Drinks was picked as a winner in the retail category at the 2015 Virgin StartUp Foodpreneur Festival, as a result, the founders met with buyers from the Target Corporation in the US to pitch their product to the store.[10][11] In December 2015, it was announced that Double Dutch Drinks had secured a six month trial at 300 U.S. Target Stores,[12] By year end 2015, the company had also raised £275 thousand in additional funding from five private investors.[13]. Double Dutch Drinks raised £1.3 million in funding in August 2017.[14]

Double Dutch Drinks produce 9 different tonics and mixers. [15]. The range of products includes Indian Tonic Water, Skinny Tonic Water, and Soda Water as well as a variety of flavoured tonics such as Cucumber & Watermelon, Cranberry & Ginger, Pomegranate & Basil, and Spices & Oakwood as well as Ginger Beer, Ginger Ale and Double Lemon.
