Pre-release CD giveaway

On April 27, 2005, thousands stood in line at the Imperial Theatre to get free copies of the CD. Several members of the Broadway cast, as well as David Yazbek, were on hand to sign copies.[6]

Other 2005 nominees were Hair, The Light in the Piazza, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Monty Python's Spamalot, with Spamalot taking home the Grammy on February 8, 2006.[8]

Broadway show and tour

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the Musical ran for 666 performances on Broadway, preceded by 36 performances in previews[9] before going on national tour with a new opening number.[10]
