Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan had been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) in 1997 A.D., but was then replaced by his predecessor, Achyut Krishna Kharel, due to certain "political instabilities (Bam Dev Gautam)", before again becoming IGP.

As of 2014, Former IGP Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, is a leader (General Secretary) of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and the President of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC).[2][3][4][5][6]
